Leading with Pride and Joy

How to Be an Effective Leader When Your Magic Wand is Broken

Wouldn't it be helpful to wave your magic leadership wand over everyone else and transform them into "perfect" followers? We all know that magic wands don't work, and that effective leadership is serious business. It starts with modeling the attitudes, beliefs and behaviors you expect - and need - from those you lead. To positively impact the bottom line you must think and act like a leader every moment of every day. In this session Jean shares the skills leaders must develop and maintain to be positive role models, consummate teachers, change agents, relationship builders and effective communicators.

Participants will develop skills and competencies to:

  • Identify the 10 most effective behaviors of successful leaders
  • Examine their individual leadership strengths
  • Facilitate change for their team, their department and the organization
  • Learn 6 communication mistakes leaders make, and how to avoid them
  • Ask the right questions, listen, and act on the feedback they receive
  • Deal with difficult people before they affect team morale and productivity
  • Make tough decisions when none of the choices are easy ones
  • Build personal accountability into every one of their actions and decisions

This session can qualify for CEUs, contact hours and education credits.

"Jean Gatz did a phenomenal job of presenting to our management staff the only way she can... with her unique and appealing sense of humor. Her session was fun-filled AND educational. She received RAVE reviews. And she even helped me find a sponsor to underwrite her fee so I could stay within my budget."
