Meet Jean Gatz

Are you sitting down? Once again, you were among the highest rated speakers at our conference. You've spoken for us for the last four years, and you're ALWAYS a hit!"

Kathy Brown, Education Director
Alabama Credit Union League

"Who IS Jean Gatz?"

 "She's one of us."

A meeting planner recently commented to me, "We've been watching videos of very expensive speakers who spend all their time talking about how great THEY are."

"Our members are not rich and famous folks. We're the ‘worker bees.' Watching your video and reading what your clients say about you convinced us that you're a ‘worker bee' too. Not only are you within our budget range, but you understand us. You get who we are. So we want you to be the opening keynote speaker for our conference."

What a compliment! Just like you, I work hard to do the best job possible for every client. Actually, I've been perfecting my craft as a speaker for a long time! When I was just a little girl my parents used to tell people, "We think Jean was accidentally vaccinated with a phonograph needle." And they may have been right! In fact, there's a strong possibility that I was talking within minutes of my birth. While I don't remember exactly what I said, I'm sure it was profound, inspirational and entertaining.

Like you, I've learned that everything eventually makes sense if we just wait long enough. So it didn't come as a big surprise to me, or anyone who knows me, that I became a keynote speaker. I consider it an honor and a privilege as well.

So let's talk about your event.

I've been working with association and corporate event planners like you for 17 years, so I understand your challenges. When you're choosing a speaker, you've learned that it makes sense to begin with the end result in mind. You know that the right speaker can set the tone for everything else that follows. So you've thought long and hard about it, and you've come up with a checklist of what you want, need and expect from the speaker you choose – the right speaker for you.

If you've ever suffered the painful experience of choosing the wrong speaker, you sure know what you don't want! No more speakers who deliver a generic message they could give to any audience, any time, anywhere, on any day of the week. (And they do!) No more speakers who spend all their time talking about themselves and how great they are, while ignoring the needs of your participants. No more speakers who provide very little take-away value and make you look bad. And definitely no more speakers who overcharge and under-deliver! You obviously know the type of speaker you need to guarantee the success of your next event.

Now let's talk about your participants.

Have you noticed that they look a bit more frazzled lately? That's no big surprise. As you know, workplace stress is on the rise. Organizations today are filled with capable and dedicated people who are working harder than ever, struggling to balance work life and home life, and feeling less than confident about their futures. Employees' stress levels directly impact productivity, teamwork and customer service. If you host association events, those same weary and worn out people are your members who attend your conferences and workshops!

Jean Gatz reenergizes your participants

What if you could create an environment that encourages and supports people to perform at their best - every single day?

What would that look like?

Imagine more productive people who, instead of feeling overwhelmed, are excited, dedicated and committed! Envision your members beating a path to your door, ready and eager to learn! Picture success at every level of your next event.

I can help you create that success! That's what I do!

My job, as I see it, is to change attitudes and behaviors in a caring and inclusive environment. I help your participants understand that, although they may not be in charge of the changes happening in their jobs, their relationships and their lives, they are in charge of their attitudes, beliefs and behaviors about those changes.

My goal is to instill a renewed sense of PRIDE & JOY in your participants – in their jobs, their organization, their industry and their lives – through:

P ersonal accountability along with professional development

R espect for customers, coworkers and colleagues

I nnovative ideas to improve performance without reducing service

D irected attention to the people and issues that matter most

E ncouragement through honest and inclusive communication

AND

J oyful attitudes and behaviors that reflect a passion for work and life

O pen minded and expanded points of view

Y our message, delivered in a style your participants will embrace

As you know, PRIDE is an important part of work and life. But why is JOY equally as important to your participants? Think about it. Very few people actually look forward to going to work any more because it's usually not a happy place to be! Since they spend more time at work than they do anywhere else, that can be a real problem.

It's a well-known fact that humor is an excellent stress management tool. So I use LOTS of humor. I give audiences permission to laugh, relax, and take a breather from the pressures of their jobs and their lives.

HR professionals enjoying Jean Gatz humor

I certainly don't mind when audiences laugh at me and my stories. In fact, I encourage it! Obviously, if they can laugh at me they are more likely to laugh at themselves. Then they are more willing to open up, think differently, and explore the possibilities that await them. Research confirms that people remember more of what they learn if they are enjoying themselves. So I make sure they have FUN in the process.

"The standing ovation you received was well deserved!! Even though I have personally heard you speak at three different conferences, your enthusiasm and real life scenarios continue to make this an entertaining experience as well as a learning experience."

Nancy Eisemon, RN, MS, MPH, CGRN
Society of Gastroenterology Nurses

Research is part of my job!

I don't believe in a "one speech fits all" approach, so I do my homework to learn everything I can about:

  • Your participants' greatest challenges
  • What they're doing right
  • How they will have to think and work differently to be successful

First, I'll talk with you and anyone else you recommend to get as much input as possible. I'll study all the materials and information that relate to your organization. Don't be afraid to overload me. The more I know, the better job I can do for you.

Then I'll design a program your participants can relate to – one that connects with their everyday challenges. Of course, I can't control the way people think. And that's definitely not a responsibility I would want! I can, however, use my stories and life lessons to influence their attitudes and behaviors for more positive outcomes.

Combining my background in Psychology with my talent for connecting to the human spirit through my stories, I've had the privilege of sharing my life lessons with thousands of people every year. As a keynote speaker, my objective is to deliver relevant, entertaining, and thought-provoking stories with time-tested strategies that lift spirits, lighten hearts, and help people focus on what matters most.

My goal is to help bring Pride & Joy to work & life. If your goal is to provide programs that entertain, educate and inspire your participants, we'll make a great team!

In fact, I GUARANTEE it! You have my No-Risk Guarantee!
